Corosolic acid is a white amorphous powder (methanol), also known as plant insulin, 2α-hydroxyursolic acid, and is a barala extract and a large-flowered crape myrtle extract. It belongs to the α-amyrin type or ursane type pentacyclic triterpenoid compounds, which are soluble in petroleum ether, benzene, chloroform, pyridine and other chemicalbook organic solvents, insoluble in water, soluble in hot ethanol and methanol. Under anhydrous conditions, it reacts with strong acids (sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, perchloric acid), medium-strong acids (trichloroacetic acid) or Lewis acids (zinc chloride, aluminum chloride, antimony chloride), and will produce color reactions or fluorescence.
